Country living in the city.

Vancouver’s “rural” neighbourhood. A wonderful area featuring large lots and catering to the equestrian set with many stables and riding schools. A distinctly serene and country feel but only 15 minutes to Downtown. There are pockets of areas along and above Southwest Marine Drive that feature large mansions with unimpeded views over the Fraser River, YVR and beyond to Vancouver Island. Many of the city’s finest Golf Courses, both private and public, are also found here.

The Market

Due to the size of the lots, the average cost of a home here is high even for Westside standards. If your budget allows, you can enjoy the privacy of your own compound in a rural setting within the city limits. A more affordable pocket is just as you enter Southlands off Southwest Marine Drive (at w48th Ave) where the lots are more modest. Another is on Deering Island – an island on the Fraser River at the foot of Southlands. These are mainly homes built in the 90’s on 60′ lots with boat launches.
